In this section we present examples of measures that employers can take to provide a supportive working environment for carers in their workforce, including flexible working and flexible leave arrangements along with other practical support options such as carers passports.
Flexible working
Understanding the benefits that flexible working can bring to both the employer and employees with caring responsibilities is an important part of developing policies and practices.
Carer’s leave
Carer’s Leave allows employees to leave work temporarily to care for someone who is older, disabled or seriously ill. Employees across Great Britain got a landmark new right to take up to one week of unpaid Carer’s Leave.
